Dr. Nelson has been married for 25 years to Dr. Trachette Jackson, who is the current Associate VP of Research at the University of Michigan. They met 30 years ago in a math class at Arizona State University. They have two amazing boys, Joshua (24) and Noah (21). Joshua played baseball at Wayne State University where he graduated in May 2020 and Noah is entering his 4th year at the University of Chicago where he also plays baseball. My family is everything to me and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without their support and love!
